What this site is

Tip Rent Bill is a pair of free, no-sign-up calculators for working out who owes what.

• Split Bill Calculator — enter the total and how many people are paying, then add tax, a tip or a discount, or split by item.
• Split by Income — enter the bill and what each person earns, and the shares are worked out in proportion to income.

Why they are built this way

Splitting a bill is easy until the receipt has tax, a tip and a coupon on it. Then the order you apply them in changes the answer, and a rough split leaves somebody a few cents out. Both calculators show every figure at once and make the rounding explicit, so the number on screen is a number you can both look at and agree on.

Each calculator is a single page. There is no account, no sign-in and no waiting.

What we do not do

We do not give financial, tax or legal advice. The calculators do arithmetic on the numbers you type in; how a bill should be divided is a decision for the people at the table.
